BUILD A HAIR CARE REGIMEN

Building a proper hair care regimen is very important, a thing many women tend to ignore. We all want shiny, healthy hair but forget that it takes some effort to attain and maintain it. Some people are genetically blessed with gorgeous, healthy hair. Some have to use different products and treatments to make their hair look good. All you have to do is to develop a simple hair care routine for yourself and follow it religiously. Go through our blog below to know how you should build up a hair care regimen for yourself.

Know your hair type

The very first thing you need to do is to get as much information as you can about your hair and scalp. You need to determine whether it is oily, dry or normal. This is important because whatever products or treatments you opt for will depend on what kind of hair and scalp you have.

Comb and brush your hair regularly

This may seem like a very obvious thing to do but some women, especially girls don’t bother to comb or brush their hair regularly. Use a wide-toothed comb or a boar-bristle brush atleast in the morning to make your hair tangle-free. This also helps in distributing natural oils through out the hair.

Shampoo according to your hair’s need

Invest in a good quality, moisturizing shampoo especially designed for your hair type/texture and use it according to your hair’s needs. For example, if you have oily hair, you will need to wash your hair atleast once in two days. Cleanse your hair properly and rinse thoroughly.

Follow up with a good conditioner

Conditioning is a must because it will keep your hair hydrated, especially in the upcoming harsh winter. Select a good quality conditioner according to your hair type and apply it after the shampoo. Use your hands and a wide-toothed comb to spread it evenly through out the hair. If you have dry hair, then apply a strong, hydrating conditioner all over your hair from roots to tips. If you have oily hair, avoid the roots and use a lightweight conditioner from mid-lengths to tips. For normal hair, you can go for any kind of conditioner routine.

Deep conditioner treatment

Deep conditioning treatment will be required only once or twice a month if you follow the above mentioned regime religiously. However, if you use a lot of heat styling products and appliances on your hair, then it may come down to once a week. Basically, it all depends on your hair’s needs.

Protein treatment

How often you need a protein treatment depends on how and what products you treat your hair with. If you don’t use any heat styling appliances, products or chemical dyes on your hair at all, then a mild reconstructor protein treatment, once a month, would be alright for you. However if are into dyeing or coloring and heat styling your hair on a regular basis, then you will need more intense and frequent treatments. For that purpose, it is always better to consult your hair stylist rather than doing it yourself at home.

Clarifying shampoo treatment

Use of clarifying shampoo, again, depends on amount of chemicals and hair styling products your hair is subjected to everyday. If you tend to use heavy, greasy products often then you need to wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo atleast once a month.

Trimming

It is very important to trim your hair ends whenever they feel dry and brittle. If you use heat styling appliances on a regular basis, then you need to check your hair for split ends. In that case, a trim once in 4 to 6 weeks would be alright.

This is a relatively easy routine to follow once you get started. Observe your hair and find out what suits it and build up your own hair care regimen. The most important point is to stick to whatever regime you develop for yourself. Also, you can include Hairburst products in your hair care routine.
